Engineering Surveying for beginners, graduates, assistant and junior engineers 

 

Our Beginners to Advanced Engineering Surveying course is the perfect choice for those looking to kickstart or advance their career in construction engineering. We know it could be challenging to embark on a new job, but we will help you every step of the way to make it as easy as possible. We have trained over 1200 learners over the past 30 years and know how to train beginners.

 

By the end of this course, you should be able to set out and survey small—to medium-sized construction sites. We provide you with post-training support, where you can call, email, or visit the college with any issues at work and receive guidance on how to resolve them.

 

You can contact us for support anytime, regardless of when you studied with us. We provide lifetime support.

Locations and duration: 

London: 15 weekend sessions in the first three Saturdays and two Sundays of every month for three months or a block of nine consecutive days plus two weekends.

You will start by two months of morning sessions followed by one month of afternoon sessions to achieve your qualification.

 

Manchester: We offer this course on the 4th weekend of every month in Manchester, learners will attend the 4th Saturday and Sunday of each month for at least three months plus an option to hire a Total Station from us subject to a refundable deposit but free of charge for up to one month of practice at home.

  • Measuring angles, distances, and heights
  • Total stations, including robotics.
  • Setting out methods
  • Reading and understanding construction drawings
  • As-built surveys
  • Upload and download data to and from USB and Total stations.
  • Understanding data types
  • Creating control systems where none exists
  • Converting local and global coordinate systems, including rotation of grids
  • Traversing for creating local control systems and local site surveys
  • Bowditch method of traversing
